Lady Manners School Orchestra

When I was browsing an internet search list for content about Lady Manners School, I happened upon YouTube videos of the school orchestra, which has clearly been making a name for itself.  The strong musical tradition at the school goes back a long time.  Despite stalwart efforts by my music teacher, Richard Barnes, I never did much.  However the school has produced many excellent musicians over the years.   The current incumbent, Robert Steadman, has done a stunning job in getting the school orchestra to this level.

The first clip is the theme from the BBC Sci-fi comedy series “Red Dwarf”, one of my all-time favourite programmes.  The school sports hall doesn’t seem to have changed much since I left in 1980!

The second clip is taken from the Schools Proms at the Albert Hall in London, no less.   Nice and patriotic!

Congratulations to all the participants.
